SH-33 ODOT Paving Improvements
Langston, Oklahoma
Meshek completed the construction documents for the SH-33 paving, drainage, and sidewalk improvements through Langston, Oklahoma. The project was one of six task orders Meshek was assigned under the On-Call Pedestrian Improvements contract with ODOT.
The initial scope of the project was to maintain the existing open paving section, utilize bar ditches for stormwater drainage, mill and overlay the existing roadway and also add a sidewalk to one side of the road. Following preliminary design review and discussions with ODOT and the Town of Langston City, the scope of the project was broadened to include additional roadway patching and reconstruction as needed, addition of curb and gutter to the roadway section, installation of a storm sewer system for stormwater drainage and construction of sidewalks on both sides of the road.
In order for funding to be available for construction, all sidewalks throughout the project had to be ADA compliant and the original schedule for the project had to be maintained. Through close coordination of plan development and review, project design and construction was able to be expedited and completed on schedule.
