Neighborhood Drainage Analysis

The City of Bentonville, Arkansas needed help determine alternative solutions to various drainage-related issues within two neighborhoods. The City selected Meshek & Associates to perform the concept design analysis for Pleasant View neighborhood and College Place and Meadowbrook Farms neighborhood.

The analysis started with preparing an existing conditions model to determine where the overland water was flowing and how much flow was accumulating at certain areas. The H&H team accomplished this by looking at the stormsewer flow and then analyzing the excess overland flow using a 2-Dimensional hydraulic model.

Alternatives included property acquisition, detention facilities, and stormsewer improvements.
